Hi.

Welcome to my blog!

This is where I write. My desire is to know the heart of my Father. And when I hear a beat, I love to put words to it in hopes that others will find something to dance to.

Enjoy!

As we started school this year, the subject of our chapel lessons started with The Father. If we are going to worship Him fully, we have to know who He is and His heart for us. So Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday we learned about Him. Randomly on Thursday morning when we were doing our morning devotions, a student came to us saying that she had left her Bible at home, so a teacher found her a Bible to use. This teacher had been a student at our school years ago and she dug out the one she had used back then. As she opened it up to take a quick peek, inside was a paper folded up with the words “The Father’s Love Letter” showing in big bold print. This letter, a little tattered and worn, had been given to her from a teacher all those years ago. I tell you this story because I know that it was no accident to find that paper on that day. I have just enough child-like faith to believe that because we were (as a school) wanting to know our Father, He divinely orchestrated this response by sending His Love Letter to us through this teacher and student. What a personal and awesome Father He is!

Father,

Thank you for the love letter you wrote to me…that You would take the time to do it is SO amazing to me. Every word You pick is perfect. Every one speaking to a longing in my heart, filling an empty place, and breaking down lies I had wrongly believed with truth. I feel wanted and loved in ways I never thought possible when I realize that these verses are about me. It’s almost like each word is a kiss and You have covered me with them. They don’t fade but last and last and last. (Jeremiah 31:3).

You knew me before I was conceived in my mother’s womb (Jeremiah 32:41). You thought about making me your masterpiece, designing me with gifts and personality on the inside, my color, shape, and size on the outside. (1 Corinthians 4:7-8). Like Adam, you molded me like clay in your hands. (Psalm 139:13). I picture myself there, looking up at You as you’re doing it and You are smiling back, lavishing your love on me. (1 John 3:1). I feel so special (Exodus 19:5) as You whistle while You work on me. (Zephaniah 3:17). You have good plans for me- a hope and a purpose for my life (Jeremiah 29:11), good works for me to do planned right now, before the earth’s foundations are laid. (Ephesians 2:10).

At that moment of my creation, are You realizing that I will go astray? (Isaiah 53:6). You know every step that I will take on my path before I take it. Every day I will live is written down in your book before it even happens. (Psalm 139:15-16). So You must know I can’t keep all the rules to be perfect. (Hebrews 7:19). You know that I am going to prodigal and try my own way. I’m going to sin. (2 Corinthians 5:18-19). You are for me not against me. (Romans 8:31). You don’t want to keep tabs on me or count my sins. (2 Corinthians 5:18-19). I am your child and You are my Father. (1 John 3:1). Yet I am dead in my sins before I am even born. (Ephesian 2:1).

Is that when You called Jesus over to You? Did You show me to Him and did He see the tears in your eyes as You spoke of how much You love me and about the separation between You and me that was sure to come? I picture Jesus looking at You with the sweetest smile, a joy fills His heart as He sees that He can give You the family that You desire. (Hebrews 12:2). He is a son who has your heart completely. “He is the exact representation of My being.” (Hebrews 1:3). He sees your love for me and He feels it too. He knows what needs to be done and does it. I haven’t even lived one day yet and Jesus has already set Himself to go to the cross for me. (Revelation 13:8). His life and His blood will reconcile me to You.

It will mean a separation for You, the Father and the Son, so that You and I won’t ever be separated. (Romans 8:38-39). It will mean your one and only Son will become sin for me. (John 3:16). You will have to turn your back on Him in that moment of disgust (Matthew 27:46) so that in my mistakes and in my messes, I can run full speed into your arms and receive mercy. (Hebrews 4:16).

You look at Him and then look at me in the palm of your hands and decide that I’m worth it. You will give up everything You love for a chance at my love. (Romans 8:31-32). I understand now what You meant when You say, “in Jesus My love for you is revealed.” (John 17:26) and how Jesus is the only way to know You, the Father. (John 4:16).

And now You are waiting for me to say yes to You? (Luke 15:11-32). You made all these arrangements for me for good (Jeremiah 32:40) and then took a huge risk by allowing me the freedom to accept or reject you still? You chose me (2 Thessalonians 2:13) and because real love comes from the heart, You gave me the choice of choosing You in return, wanting to love You back. You started me in love (1 John 4:19) taking care of my righteousness once and for all (Romans 5:19). Now You wait for my love to be returned. You give me the right to be your child, not by my own blood, but by the blood of Jesus; not by my own will but because YOU willed it for me from the beginning. (John 1:12-13). It is only by my faith in your wonderful Son, Jesus, that I can attain this free gift. (Ephesians 2:8).

You are a wonderful Father! I love you so much! Words cannot express it fully! My answer to Your question, “Will you be my child?” is YES! YES! A million times YES! I love You! I believe in You, Jesus, and I receive by faith what You have done for me. I want to intimately know You and my Father and Your beautiful Holy Spirit. I am your child.

My answer now and forever… is YES.

We had our students take the time to write their own letters back to The Father. They were joyful and thankful and a little teary-eyed as they wrote them. Won’t you take a minute to respond to Him too? You can write it our just say it to Him. He is waiting for you.
